The Network of Diverse Scholars in Social Network Analysis (NODS-SNA) was formed to advocate, support, and promote diversity initiatives on behalf of under-represented racial and ethnic groups. By leveraging professional and social contacts among its members, NODS-SNA promotes the presence and visibility of under-represented racial and ethnic minorities as participants, speakers, and organizers of scholarly gatherings within the network science and social network analysis fields. As part of our mission, we encourage culturally-relevant research that address the various needs of racially and ethnically diverse populations within network science and social network analysis. Harnessing the expertise of our members, we believe that complex issues facing the network science and social network community can be solved by providing a voice to diverse populations that we represent and serve.
